WILMINGTON, MA – The Wilmington Educational Foundation will hold its 6th Annual Halloween “Walk for WEF” on Thursday, October 29, 2015.
Students participating in the walk can dress in their Halloween costumes for the day and take part in a fun parade outside around their school building.
All students at the Boutwell Early Childhood Center, Wildwood Early Childhood Center, Woburn Street Elementary School, Shawsheen Elementary School, North Intermediate School and West Intermediate School are encouraged to participate.
In the weeks leading up to the event, students are encouraged to ask family members to sponsor their participation in the walk. All students who receive at least one donation may take part in the event. No donation is too small. Pledge forms can be found on WEF’s website HERE.
All funds raised will benefit the Wilmington Public Schools. 50% of each student’s fundraising total will be donated to his or her school. The other 50% will help fund the Wilmington Educational Foundation’s grant programs.
“This wonderful event raises a lot of money for our schools while putting smiles on the faces of students, teachers and parents,” says WEF President Leslee Quick. “The Walk also provides students with an opportunity to engage in some additional exercise during the school day.”
This popular fundraiser has raised more than $115,000 since its inception, including nearly $20,000 last year.
