When the Wilmington Department of Public Works closed Butters Row for nearly two weeks last month to replace a 30-inch culvert, many residents took to social media (including on the Wilmington Community Board Page) to express a desire to see the bridge widen to two lanes. Absent that, several residents asked for warning signs to be placed on both sides of the bridge, warning drivers that the bridge was only one lane.
Well, it appears the town was listening! The Department of Public Works, late this week, installed “one lane bridge ahead” warning signs on both sides of the Butters Row Bridge. Thank you to reader Heather Spizuoco for the below photos!
