Police Log from September 10: Police Receive Calls Over Pop-Up Ad, Stolen Newspaper

WILMINGTON, MA — 67 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Thursday, September 10.  Here are ELEVEN highlights:

  • The street signs for Charlotte Road and Crescent Street were noticed missing. Police notified DPW. (12:44am)
  • Police issued a citation to a gray 2009 Honda Civic for failure to stop for a school bus on Salem Street. (7:38am)
  • Two hypodermic needles were found in front of Michael’s Place on Lowell Street. Police retrieved and disposed of them. (8:55am)
  • A red 2006 Toyota Corolla was malicious damaged in the High School parking lot. (8:59am)
  • A Gandwalf Way caller received a scam call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. (10:58am)
  • Fire Department conducted fire drills at the Boutwell and Wildwood. (12:07pm, 12:25pm)
  • Animal Control Officer spoke to two individuals with dogs by the fishing pier at Silver Lake, advising them of the ‘no dog’ rule at Town Beach. (12:17pm)
  • A caller reported an ex-employee of Harrington Industrial Plastics on Research Drive was sending harassing texts and making harassing phone calls since noon. (2:24pm)
  • A Linda Road resident was reading an article online on his phone when he received a pop up about a $500 fine. He was advised it was a scam. (4:15pm)
  • A Lake Street caller wanted it logged that someone is stealing her Wilmington Advocate newspaper. (5:16pm)
  • Police assisted with the 9/11 Memorial Dedication Ceremony at Wilmington High. (5:39pm)
