POLICE LOG from September 7: Complaints Over Jehovah Witnesses Going Door-To-Door, 2 Year-Old Locked In Car

WILMINGTON, MA — 59 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Monday, September 7.  Here are SIX highlights:

  • A caller reported a house party on Shawsheen Avenue and 2 males arguing in the street. (1:24am)
  • Blanchard Road street sign and pole were found lying on the ground. Police contacted DPW. (3:01am)
  • An Ella Avenue caller stated that yesterday around 11am, two men knocked on her door and spoke with her 13 year-old son. The men claimed to be Jehovah Witnesses and requested money from the child. No money was given. The men did leave after handing the child a pamphlet. Caller was advised to contact the police immediately if the men return. (10:02am)
  • A Dunkin’ Donuts employee’s car suffered a hit and run while parked at work. Caller wanted the incident logged for insurance purposes. Caller will contact the police again if the shop’s security camera footage proves useful. (1:26pm)
  • The driver of a white 2010 Toyota Venza locked their 2 year-old child in the car in the Golden Ginger parking lot. The driver and his friend gained access to the vehicle by breaking the vehicle window before police arrived. (6:58pm)
  • Police encountered a group throwing items in the dumpster at Remax on Main Street. Police called the owner, who confirmed the group has permission. (7:23pm)
