WILMINGTON, MA — 96 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Friday, August 7. Here are NINE highlights:
- A Houghton Road resident reported her mailbox was pulled from the ground. She wanted the incident logged. (6:33am) Additional mailboxes were reported damaged on Houghton Road and Andrew Street. (6:58am, 7:10am)
- A caller reported his brown 2000 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan was struck while parked in front of the RMV. He did not get a description of the vehicle that fled. (8:01am)
- A Paddock Street caller reported receiving a call from the “IRS.” They knew it was a scam and wanted the incident logged. (9:35am) An Everett Avenue caller also reported a similar call. (10:26am)
- A walk-in party reported that while he was making a delivery for FedEx yesterday at a Crystal Road house, he was bit by a German Shepherd. (9:54am)
- A Hathaway Road resident reported an unauthorized person is using his mailing address for eBay fraud. (12:42pm)
- Manager at Metro at Wilmington Station, apartment complex on Burlington Avenue, spoke with police regarding a No Trespass notice she’d like to file against a man who has been staying at complex, but is not a resident. (1:59pm) Police later served him the notice. (2:37pm)
- A Lawrence Street caller reported a coyote was in the area during the day. He also left a message with the Animal Control Officer. (5:13pm)
- Police issued 30 citations and warnings to drivers between 8:35pm and 10:37pm. Stops occurred on Main Street, Lowell Street, Burlington Avenue, Church Street, Woburn Street, Ballardvale Street, Middlesex Avenue, and more.
- A caller reported witnessing a man shoplifting several items at CVS. Police investigated and located the man, who took $54 worth of merchandise. The man gave the merchandise back. A no trespass notice was issued. (11:02pm)
