WILMINGTON, MA / LOWELL, MA – The fifth annual “Wilmington Night at the Lowell Spinners” is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th at LeLacher Park, Lowell. The Lowell Spinners are the single A minor league team for the Boston Red Sox. The Spinners have sent more than 80 players to the major leagues including Dustin Pedroia, Mookie Betts, Jonathan Papplebon, Will Middlebrooks, and Jacoby Ellsbury to the Red Sox. Aside from baseball, the Spinners are a great family fun night, complete with colorful mascots, a children’s play area and between innings contests.
On Wilmington Night, the Spinners salute Wilmington’s organizations, businesses, and groups. Additionally, pregame ceremonies honor some of Wilmington’s finest. Past honorees include the Wilmington High School State Champion Hockey teams, Frank Kelley and Sean Collier. Last year Mr. Frank Kelley, who has said that the years of eraser tossing was only warm up, received recognition. Come and see who is this year’s honoree.
Nearly 2,000 Wilmingtonites have attended the first four Wilmington Nights, so plan on joining with neighbors and friends for a terrific night of baseball and fun.
Tickets are available in two forms; $ 29.54 includes a 90-minute pregame All You Can Eat BBQ and a reserved grandstand game ticket or $ 6.00 for a reserved grandstand game ticket. The first 1,000 fans entering the park will also receive a pair of Lowell Spinners sun glasses. First pitch is 7:05PM.
Tickets are available through the Lowell Spinners Box Office, 978-805-5117. Be sure and ask for “Wilmington Night”. Groups should contact Jon Boswell at 978-805-5117.
