POLICE LOG for July 12: 5 Busted For Lawrence Heroin Ring Spend Night At Station

WILMINGTON, MA — 48 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Sunday, July 12.  Here are SEVEN highlights:

  • A Salem Street caller reported he’s receiving harassing text messages from his ex-girlfriend’s mother. (11:04am)
  • A caller reported a golden lab was left in a red 2009 Toyota Camry in the Target parking lot for at least 5 minutes, with windows down, before owner returned. Caller wanted the incident logged. (11:09am)
  • An Adelman Road caller reported his vehicle was stolen from his driveway within the last two hours. Caller suspects his nephew is the culprit. Police put a BOLO out and notify the police in Nashua, where the nephew lives. (2:10pm)
  • A walk-in party reported that someone was digging by grave sites in the Wildwood Cemetery, in the area of the second entrance from Route 62. Police checked and did not find any such activity. (2:18pm)
  • There was reports of people drinking on Town Beach. Police checked some of the coolers and no alcohol was found. Police did stay on scene to ensure one group did leave after being requested to by the head lifeguard. (4:12pm)
  • A red 2010 Chevy Silverado struck a fire hydrant on Evergreen Drive. No injuries reported. Hydrant was knocked over, but no water was leaking. Water Department was notified. (8:28pm)
  • 5 individuals were arrested for their involvement in a Lawrence-based heroin ring after a drug bust late Sunday night. These federal prisoners were booked and spent the night at the Wilmington Police Station — Yoelly Carmenatty (27, Lynn); Gilberto Alecia (31, Lawrence); Jerry Martini (31, Lawrence); Michael Bate (32, Leicester, OC); and Juan Gonzalez (40, Lawrence).  The five were charged in federal court on Monday.
