POLICE LOG for June 30: Decorations Confused As Animal Abuse; Car Break-In

WILMINGTON, MA — 74 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Tuesday, June 30.  Here are SEVEN highlights:

  • A Woburn Street caller reported his checkbook was stolen and a check was cashed.  A second check was attempted to be cashed. (9:10am)
  • A caller requested the Animal Control Officer call the owners of a Coolidge Road home that has a bunny in a cage outside. Officer contacted the owners. The “bunny” was fake — just some sort of decoration. (9:35am)
  • A gray 2010 Toyota Camry and a blue 2013 freightliner truck were involved in a motor vehicle crash at the U-Haul location on Main Street.  Unknown injuries. (12:51pm)
  • A gray 2002 Mercedes-Benz hit a large rock on Main Street.  The airbag was deployed and windshield spidered. Car was towed and driver was transported to Lahey by the Fire Department. (1:45pm)
  • A lifeguard reported 5 individuals on baby beach at Silver Lake. Police advised them and sent them on their way. (2:35pm)
  • MBTA worker left his car unattended and unlocked in Main Street parking lot. His sunglass holder was ripped down and a lighter was stolen. (4:43pm)
  • A possible attempted break-in was reported on Winston Avenue. Glass on a storm door was broken between 2pm and 4pm. (5:57pm)
