5 Things To Do In Wilmington Today (May 26, 2015)

Here are FIVE things to do today in Wilmington on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

#1) The Board of Selectmen is holding a rare Tuesday meeting at 7pm at Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE. The Shawsheen Tech School Committee is holding a meeting at 7:30pm at the Tech. Read the agenda HERE.

#2) The Wilmington Memorial Library is hosting the legendary Tuskegee Airmen for a presentation at 7pm. “Members of the Col. Charles McGee Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen from Hanscom Air Force Base will present a program on the history of the Tuskegee Airmen. The Tuskegee airmen were the first black servicemen to serve as military aviators in the U.S. armed forces, flying with distinction during World War II.  Before 1940, African Americans were barred from flying for the U.S. military. The highly publicized successes of the Tuskegee Airmen helped pave the way for the eventual integration of the U.S. armed forces under President Harry Truman in 1948.”  Register HERE.

#3) The Wilmington Senior Center is running its usual slate of Tuesday activities — Walking Group at 9am; Aerobics at 10:30am; Wii at 12:30pm; and 3B Fitness at 3pm.

#4) Shop at Barnes and Nobles in Burlington today (9am-10pm) — or online at http://www.barnesandnoble.com — and a portion of your sale will be donated to the Wilmington-based iPods for Wounded Veterans.  Learn more HERE.

#5) Cheer on some Wildcats without leaving town!  All varsity teams in action today are on the road, but WHS Freshmen Baseball battles Reading at 3:30pm at the Middle School while WHS Freshmen Softball takes on Reading at 3:30pm at the West.  View the schedule for all of this week’s varsity games — home and away — HERE.
