Here are FIVE things to do today in Wilmington on Thursday, May 14, 2015.
#1) The Abundant Life Christian School Drama Club is presenting “The Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery” at 7pm at the school (173 Church Street). Tickets cost $5 at the door. Can’t make it tonight? Catch an encore tomorrow at 7pm. Learn more HERE.
#2) The American Red Cross is holding a Blood Drive at the Wilmington Congregational Church (220 Middlesex Avenue) from 2pm to 7pm. Learn more HERE.
#3) The Wilmington Senior Center is running its usual slate of Wednesday activities — Walking Group at 9am, Art Class at 10am, and Aerobics at 10:30am.
#4) The Wilmington Memorial Library is holding a very interesting program — “Great Boston Fires” at 7pm in the Meeting Room. “A look at the devastating fires and their impact on Boston, from the many “great” fires of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries (including the truly Great Fire of 1872,) the Cocoanut Grove tragedy of 1942, and the Hotel Vendome fire of 1972. How did these fires happen? What was learned from these events? What, if anything, was done to try and prevent similar catastrophes? Presented by lecturer and author David Kruh, whose writing has appeared in Yankee Magazine, the Boston Globe and Herald, as well as Boston Magazine.” Register HERE.
#5) Elia’s Country Store (381 Middlesex Avenue) is holding a Captain Morgan Rum Tasting from 5pm to 7pm. Learn more HERE.
Plus… Red Heat Tavern (8pm) and Tremezzo (8:30pm) both have live music tonight. Learn more HERE.
