FRESH FROM THE MARKET: Farmers Market Seeking Local Non-Profits For Community Tables

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Farmers Market is seeking community groups to participate at its Community Tables this summer.  The Market provides two groups each week with a table to raise funds, recruit new members, and spread the word about their organization.

Last summer, the Market gave space to the following organizations — Wilmington Relay For Life, Wilmington Educational Foundation, Wilmington Community Television, Wilmington Minutemen, American Legion Post 136, Wilmington Historical Commission/Harden Tavern, YMCA Reading, Epilepsy Foundation, Wilmington Congregational Church, Team MACY, iPods for Wounded Veterans, Merrimack Valley Chorus, Wilmington United Methodist Church, Wilmington’s 4H Science Pirates, Wilmington Figure Skating Club, Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, Heaps of Hope, Middlesex Canal Association, Autism Speaks, WHS C.AT.S., and Wilmington Strings Attached Parent Group.

All of last year’s groups will be invited back, but there will still be plenty of spots available.  If you know a local non-profit organization that would like a spot at the market for one of its openings, please have them contact Community Table Coordinator Robert Hayes at

The Wilmington Farmers Market will be open from 10am to 1pm every Sunday, from June 13 to October 11.  The Market is located on the Swain Green, across from the Town Common, at 140 Middlesex Avenue.  Learn more about the Market from their website.  Like their Facebook page.  Follow them on Twitter.

(NOTE: Fresh From The Market will be a weekly feature — from April through October — with the latest news from the Wilmington Farmers Market.)
