WILMINGTON, MA — Town Hall will be joining the City of Boston in observing “One Boston Day” with a moment of silence on the 2nd anniversary of the Patriot’s Day Bombing. The moment of silence will be observed on Wednesday, April 15, 2:49PM.
The Patriot’s Day Bombing was an attempt to terrorize the City of Boston, the Commonwealth, and the nation. It was a horrific act that resulted in the loss of four lives and the injury of hundreds. More directly, Wilmington lost one of its own in the killing of Officer Sean Collier, a bright and promising young officer on the MIT Police force. The attackers failed in their mission, as we saw our communities pull together to care for and strengthen each other on that day and the days, weeks, and months following.
On One Boston Day, the Mayor of Boston is calling on the towns and cities of this state to observe a moment of silence to honor and remember all those affected by the tragic events two years ago, to celebrate those who bravely carry on after, and to strengthen us as one community again.
Please join us as we observe the moment of silence on Wednesday, at 2:49PM.
(The above is a notice from Wilmington Town Hall).
people should be remembering what happens on Patriots Day or as “we” say, Marathon Day. The date not as important as “the day”. April 15 is Tax Day to Americans.
