LETTER TO THE EDITOR: School Committee Member Manny Mulas Endorses Martinson For Moderator

Dear Editor,

Since we have moved to Wilmington 16 years ago, you’ve repeatedly shown my family what it means to be part of a community.  Whenever I watch this town’s volunteerism in action, I see people who were born here working side by side with people who have specifically chosen to live here, together making our town a unique and wonderful place to call home.  When it comes to local elections, I have always been impressed by our residents’ ability to recognize commitment, passion and integrity, by looking beyond whether someone has been a life long resident or just became part of the community.  Our Board of Selectmen as well as our School Committee includes capable, lifelong Wilmington residents, but it is also comprised of a mix of dedicated men and women from diverse backgrounds and places.  Voters have wisely embraced such “transplants” as myself to serve on an excellent school committee!

This year, we have an important decision to make at the ballot box, when we vote for our next Town Moderator.  This position should embody the qualities of fairness, independence and skill.  Perhaps more importantly than with any other elected position, we must cast our vote based purely upon the candidates’ respective credentials and experience.  From my perspective, based on those credentials, the choice is clear. Leigh Martinson is the right man for the job.

He is an independent, self-made success story, with a long record of community involvement.  As a seasoned Courtroom attorney for a variety of Fortune 500 companies, he has the skills, integrity and wit to keep our town meetings fair, focused and under control.  Please join with me and vote for Leigh Martinson for Moderator.

Sincerely,

Manny Mulas
