Pi Day, a day to celebrate math around the world, is recognized every March 14th. (Pi, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, is 3.14159.) This year’s Pi date — 3/14/15 — is particularly rare, happening once every 100 years.
The Wilmington Memorial Library took part in today’s festivities, providing patrons with free slices of pie this afternoon, starting at 3:14pm. Library staff also wore Pi Day shirts and adored signs with Pi Puns and Jokes around the building. (Photos from the library’s Facebook page.)
