WILMINGTON, MA — Today marks 100 days until Wilmington’s 7th annual Relay For Life, scheduled for Friday, June 19 at the Wilmington Middle School.
According to its website, “The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is the world’s largest and most impactful fundraising event to end cancer. It unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all.”
“Wilmington has provided STRONG support,” writes Elaine Sousa, a volunteer with the Wilmington Relay For Life. “In our 7th year, we are getting closer to $1 MILLION raised to help fight cancer! With your help, we will make it!”
The first team meeting for returning teams is TONIGHT, March 10 at 6:30pm in the Wilmington Middle School Cafeteria. Members will hear “all about the great new enhancements to Relay this year and more!”
The first team “relay rally” for new teams is TONIGHT, March 10 at 7:30pm in the Wilmington Middle School Cafeteria. Members will “learn the history of Relay For Life, some Relay 101 basics, what to expect at Relay, and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may already have.”

On Saturday, April 11, Sole Sistas — a Wilmington Relay For Life team — is holding a Trivia Night at the Tewksbury Knights of Columbus (2068 Main Street). Doors open at 7pm. Trivia begins at 8pm. Trivia will be hosting by Lisa Kapala of WCTV and Shooting Star Productions. Music will be provided by “DJ” Charles King. Tickets cost $20 per person in advance, $25 at the door.
