OBITUARY: Glenna F. (Creamer) Sandberg, 87

WILMINGTON, MA — Glenna F. (Creamer) Sandberg, age 87, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away on May 20, 2024.

Glenna was born on July 8, 1936, in Wilmington, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Harold Creamer, Sr. and Anna (Moore) Creamer. Glenna was raised in Reading and graduated from Reading High School.

Glenna married her husband, Ernest E. Sandberg; they settled in Wilmington in 1971, where they raised their children, Karen, and Keith. Glenna was a wonderful mother and homemaker; she was proud of her family and the home she and Ernest built together.

Glenna enjoyed sewing and quilting, especially for her family. She made many beautiful quilts that will be treasured by her family and friends. Glenna was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting holidays and special occasions.

Glenna will be remembered for her warm personality; she maintained her friendships throughout her life with her friends from high school. She enjoyed going to lunch, shopping and “catching up” with them. Glenna was also very fond of her cats; they were her comfort and she adored them.

Glenna was the beloved wife of the late Ernest E. Sandberg, devoted mother of Karen Couture & her husband John of Mason, NH, and Keith Sandberg & his wife Dawn of Tewksbury, loving “Grammy” of Kyle, Ryan, and Noah, dear sister of the late Hal Creamer, Jr., dear cousin of Barbara Carpenter and the late Charlotte Stewart. Glenna is survived by her best friend, Ruthie Prescott, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, May 23rd from 3:00-5:30 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Home Service at 5:30 p.m.
