School Committee To Discuss Pay For Substitutes, Wildwood School Project, Greece Field Trip & More At May 8 Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington School Committee is holding a meeting this Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 7pm in the High School’s Large Instruction Room.

The meeting will be streamed live on WCTV.org and on WCTV.

There are several noteworthy items on the meeting agenda, including:

  • Superintendent Brand will provide an update on the MSBA Wildwood School Building project, including the sharing of an informational video.
  • The School Committee will discuss substitute pay.
  • The School Committee will conduct a second reading of eight recently revised policies, including one involving the Retirement of Facilities.
  • The School Committee will welcome its newest member, Nick Golden, who is filling the seat previously held by MJ Byrnes.
  • The School Committee will begin planning for its reorganization and discuss its summer retreat.
  • The School Committee will receive a report from its Middle School student representatives and hear a performance from the Middle School’s chorus group, the WilmingTones.
  • The School Committee will consider approving a field trip to Greece for June 2025.
  • The School Committee will accept at $5,000 donation to the WHS Lamplighters Guild.

The School Committee will also hear any public comments, correspondence, and subcommittee reports.
