VIDEO: WCTV’s ‘Book Stew’ Celebrates Its 125th Episode With Author Janice Deal

Below is an announcement from Wilmington Community Television’s “Book Stew:”

Have you ever dreamed of inventing your own town? Or living in a fictional locale? Not Narnia nor Hobbiton nor Mars, but Ephrem, Illinois.

That’s the setting for returning guest Janice Deal’s new collection of linked short stories set in a smallish-ruralish-suburbanish town, sprung from the author’s imagination. Strange Attractors, The Ephrem Stories, is the focus of the 125th Book Stew episode.

There are indeed strange doings for Ephrem residents, living on the Illinois-Wisconsin border. There are squirrel and turtle housemates. There is a woman who has a job screening comments left online on funeral home obituaries. And there’s a murderer.

Eileen MacDougall is the host/producer of 125 episodes of Book Stew, a web series and podcast originating in 2013, featuring every variety of authors, illustrators, poets, and playwrights, plus a cat that survived a tornado and lived to write about it!
