Select Board To Hear From Rep. Robertson & Sen. Finegold On MBTA Communities Act & North Wilmington Train Station At April 22 Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Select Board meets this Monday, April 22, 2024 at 7pm in Room 9 of Town Hall.

Prior to the meeting, the Select Board will meet in Executive Session to discuss contracts for the firefighters union and police supervisors union. After the meeting, the Select Board will meet in Executive Session to discuss acquiring Sciarappa Farm, as well as continuing to work on finalizing the contract for the next Town Manager. Later in the week, on Wednesday, the subcommittee for the Town Manager’s contract negotiations will hold a standalone Executive Session meeting.

There are some noteworthy items on Monday night’s agenda, including:

  • The Select Board will consider the request of Arvinder Singh Suri to obtain a common victualer license for the recently purchased Tremezzo Pizzeria (296 Shawsheen Avenue).
  • Wilmington DPW Director Jamie Magaldi will provide an update on the Textron Fields which the town recently began leasing.
  • State Senator Barry Finegold and State Rep. Dave Robertson, along with Wilmington Planning Director Valerie Gingrich, will discuss the MBTA Multi-Family Overlay District and the status of the North Wilmington Commuter Rail Station.
  • Temporary Town Manager Lou Cimaglia will discuss a cost of living adjustment (COLA) for non-union personnel.
  • The Select Board will receive a written update on 175 Lowell Street, the recently constructed warehouses from National Development, at former Textron location.
  • The Select Board will consider requests from the Wilmington Farmers Market to hold their 2024 season on Sundays, from 10am to 1pm, from June 9 to October 6, on the Town Common.
  • The Temporary Town Manager will make annual appointments to a large number of town boards, committees, and commissions. Some will require ratification from the Select Board. The Select Board will also have the opportunity to elect designees to certain boards and committees.
