WILMINGTON RESTAURANT NEWS: Tremezzo Pizzeria Changes Ownership; Chipotle & Starbucks Coming As Part Of New Projects

Below is some of the latest news from the Wilmington restaurant scene:

  • Tremezzo Pizzeria (296 Shawsheen Avenue) has changed ownership as of March 1. A name change is expected soon. Tremezzo Ristorante (2 Lowell Street), along with Josie’s Bakery, remains a part of the Paisano Hospitality Group, owned by Rick Lowe. Old gift cards to Tremezzo Pizzeria can be redeemed at Tremezzo Ristorante and Josie’s Bakery.
  • AJ’s Kitchen (162 Lowell Street) was recently spotlighted on Phantom Gourmet. Their pizza, sandwiches, chicken cutlets, meatball subs, and calzones were spotlighted. Watch the segment HERE… AJ’s is accepting donations for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism this month. Look for the donation box on the counter. AJ’s will match up to $2,000 in donations.
  • Cucina LaRosa’s (228 Main Street) was recently spotlighted on Wicked Bites. Watch a YouTube short of the segment HERE. … The restaurant is hosting a special Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Learn more HERE.
  • Code 1 BBQ (211 Main Street) is holding a Backyard BBQ Basics class on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 7:30am to 2pm. Learn from Pitmaster Sean, feast on BBQ, learn how to make the sauces and sides, and walk away with a brisket of your own. Learn more HERE.
  • The Wilmington Select Board recently approved earth removal permit for ALRIG USA Development, which is building a new commercial development at 208 Main Street, the old Rite Aid location. The development is slated to include a Chipotle and a Chase Bank, among other tenants.
  • The Wilmington Planning Board recently held a public hearing regarding signage for the forthcoming development at 203 Lowell Street, at the corner of Lowell Street and Woburn Street. A standalone drive-thru Starbucks is included in this project, as is a strip mall which may include another restaurant.
  • The Wilmington Select Board continued a request to obtain a common victualer license for Paddock Lounge, a food establishment inside K1 Speed at 40 Fordham Road. The Board of Health needed K1 Speed to make improvements to its current kitchen before recommending approval.
  • Red Heat Tavern (300 Lowell Street) celebrated its 10th anniversary in Wilmington on March 24, 2024. … The restaurant hosts Tacos, Tequila, & Trivia every Tuesday night at 6:30pm.
