Adult Programs

Bookends Book Group
Monday, April 22, 10am
This book group discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Associate Rebecca Lowe. Copies of the book are available at the library. April’s featured title is Madame Restell: The Life, Death and Resurrection of Old New York’s Most Fabulous, Fearless and Infamous Abortionist by Jennifer Wright.

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, April 22, 6:30pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in. This group meets every Monday in the cozy seating area of the first floor of the library.

Hybrid DEI Book Group
Monday, April 22, 6:30pm
This book group, focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, meets on the 4th Monday of the month. We read the book three chapters at a time to allow us to delve deeper into what we’re reading. The current book is Broke in America by Joanne Samuel Goldblum. This meeting (April 22) will cover chapters 9 through 11 (62 pages).

Arbor Day Tree Seedling Giveaway

We will be giving away one hundred balsam fir tree seedlings. One per family while supplies last. Thank you to the Friends of the Library for sponsoring this program!

Needleworkers
Friday, April 26, 10am
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie. Drop in.

Town Cleanup
Saturday, April 27, 10am
Spend some time picking up litter around Wilmington, then bring your bag of trash to the Wildwood Street Parking lot from 10am-12pm to spin the wheel for a small prize. Planning to pick up litter earlier in the week? Bring us a picture of your hard work instead! Trash bags and gloves will be available at the library starting April 15, while supplies last.

Youth Programs

Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, April 22, 10am
The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Join CTI for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. The first playgroup of every month will focus on infants and toddlers. Ages 0-6, siblings welcome

Kids’ Book Cafe
Monday, April 22, 6pm
A book tasting for students in Grades 3-5. Sample a variety of books, both fiction and nonfiction, revolving around the same genre or theme. Each session will include either a themed snack or activity! This month’s theme is Poetry & Spring. Grades 3-5

Preschool Storytime

Join us at our Preschool Storytime! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Ages 3-6

Storytime Steps

Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code is an organization that aims to close the gender gap in STEM fields by teaching girls to code. Over the twelve weeks you’ll learn about coding, women in the STEM fields, and work together to code your own project. Grades 3-5

Read to Stormy

Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.
