WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Sunday, April 12, 2026:

Wilmington Little League is holding its Opening Day today. The parade starts at 9am. Players will march from the Town Common to Rotary Park. Immediately following the parade, there will be an on-field ceremony with special guests and a ceremonial first pitch by a Wilmington veteran. All participating players will receive snacks and goodies, including a hot dog and drink, provided by Kayem, served by the Wilmington Kiwanis Club. The event is sponsored by NDC.

The Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm.  Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington.

TEXTILES WANTED: The Wilmington Educational Foundation has partnered with Baystate Textiles to raise funds through an ongoing textile recycling rebate program. Bag up any of your unwanted footwear, clothing, accessories, linens and stuffed animals and place them in the donation boxes located outside each of Wilmington’s public schools. Donations can be in any condition as long as they’re clean and dry. The Wilmington Educational Foundation will receive a rebate of $100 for every ton of textiles collected.  WEF earns thousands of dollars each year from this fundraiser.

CANS WANTED: Wilmington’s Cub Scout Pack 136 and Boy Scout Troop 136 are currently collecting returnable cans and bottles to help support their Scouting programs. Learn more HERE.

WET CAT FOOD & CAT LITTER WANTED: The Wilmington Animal Food Pantry is collecting wet cat food and cat litter. Donors can drop off items at the pantry’s  donation bins at Empower on Haven and The Barkery during open hours. Donors can also purchase items directly from the Pantry’s wish list on Chewy and Amazon.
