LETTER: DePalma Is Dedicated To Protecting The Integrity Of Our Community, Was Strong In His Opposition To Nichols Street 40B

To Residents of Wilmington,

I am writing to offer my endorsement of Gary DePalma as he seeks his third term on the Wilmington Select Board. As a resident of Wilmington for more than 30 years, Gary has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the well-being of our town and the people who call it home.

I have personally witnessed Gary’s dedication to protecting the integrity of our community. When a proposal was brought forward by local developers to build 12 single-family condominiums on less than 1.5 acres, a plan that would have significantly and negatively impacted the surrounding neighborhood, Gary stood firmly in opposition. He did not take this stance lightly; rather, he made the effort to attend town meetings, listen to residents, and advocate on behalf of those of us who would be directly affected. His willingness to stand up for abutters like myself speaks volumes about his character and priorities.

Gary possesses a strong and thoughtful sense of what is right for Wilmington. He approaches each issue with care, balancing growth and development with the preservation of the community’s character and quality of life. His leadership reflects integrity, transparency, and a genuine desire to serve.

What sets Gary apart is not just his experience, but his consistent willingness to dedicate his time and energy to ensuring Wilmington navigates the future responsibly. He understands the challenges our town faces and works diligently to address them in a way that benefits residents both now and in the years to come.

I am deeply grateful for Gary DePalma’s leadership and his unwavering commitment to our town. It is without hesitation that I fully endorse his candidacy for re-election to the Wilmington Select Board.

Sincerely,
Hugh VanDeMark JR
