Lost in Translation Episode 53 – Rashad Bell

Rashad Bell flew in from New York to sit down with Bobby and Sam for this episode of Lost in Translation, and his journey is anything but typical. A four-year starter and standout at Boston University, Bell didn’t even pick up a basketball until high school—his first love was baseball. What followed was a meteoric rise from beginner to one of the top players in New York by his senior year.

His college career came with its share of highs and lows, but it set the stage for a 15-year professional run that took him across the globe—playing in more than a dozen countries on every continent except Antarctica.

Now serving as a middle school dean of students, Bell reflects on his unconventional path, the lessons basketball taught him, and how he’s pouring those experiences into the next generation. He also shares his perspective on how the game has changed—and the evolving mindset of young players coming up today.
