LETTER: Rob Fasulo Represents A New, Better Direction For Wilmington

Dear Editor,

On April 25, 2026, we will again elect to select board. I would like to bring attention to a candidate for select board Rob Fasulo, and speak to why he is greatly worthy of my vote and hopefully yours .

Rob is a lifelong resident of Wilmington.

He and his children have all attended Wilmington public schools. He has a degree in criminal justice administration ,is steeped in volunteerism as having been a coach and has long been very involved in civic matters . I along with many have experienced his passion shown in Town meetings. Quality of life in Wilmington is his concern.

My family of four has lived in Wilmington since July 1998 totaling 28 years. We raised two daughters in the same home. Our oldest graduated Bowden and is accepted to law school while our youngest is just about to graduate Columbia University, planning to work at Terradyne.

Like Rob, I am a family man and I wish to stay here with my children. To have this kind of generational continuity ,

We must have affordability of taxes. We must make money with Town assets as was done years ago in Wilmington ,we need transparency in tax spending and we should also have the select board members uphold the wishes of Town’s people’s vote .

Rob Fasulo is for these things as these are his spoken intentions.

Today I find that in Wilmington, I may not always be able to afford to live in my home of 28 years. This is due to the shocking abrupt rise in taxes.

Countries are rated on how they treat their youth and aged populations. Towns are in my thinking held to the same standard. Rob is a breath of fresh air to Wilmington and pledges to look into the spending of our hard earned tax dollars .

Rob Fasulo’s intended agenda is to attract more business investing in Wilmington . This directly speaks to the issue of affordability and tamed taxes.

My wife has for years said , “Wilmington holds onto nothing by way of restaurants, shops, coffee, and breakfast places. “Therefore I go and spend elsewhere”.

Rob’s desire to grow a commercial tax base may well solve this dilemma. Similarly i hear many in town endorse affordability ,and longevity to the growth of family based communities . Wilmington population does not want the jam packing of multiple family dwelling units that grow around here like weeds ,constituting huge usage of monetary assets and end up raising taxes.

I can’t get out of my driveway at certain times of the day to get to the nearest street light and on my way to work.

Select board leadership needs to oppose the state mandate with respect to MBTA 3A communities act.

Rob represents just this kind of leadership.

This is not right for Wilmington. Wilmington is a place we wish to stay unlike cities. Wilmington is a Town , I long ago chose its suburban town life.

Let Rob breathe this fresh air into a better direction for our town and do what is right for Wilmington .

Rob always has had skin in the game as a family man of Wilmington. I know he will work for all of our Wilmington families.

Sincerely,

Edward A. Perriello
