WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Rotary Club and WHS Rotary Interact Club are holding our 4th Annual Polar Plunge at Silver Lake to support Rotary’s “End Polio Now” Campaign. Everyone is welcome to join us as we plunge into the chilly waters of Silver Lake on Saturday March 28, 2026 at 11am to help support Rotary’s efforts to eradicate the Polio Virus. Yes, the ice and snow have officially melted from the lake!
The eradication of Polio has been Rotary International’s signature cause since 1988. When Rotary International took on the battle against this disease, more than 350,000 people spanning 125 countries were impacted by Polio each year. Today there are two countries remaining where Polio has not been completely eradicated. In recent years, there were only five reported cases of wild Polio virus, down from 140 in 2020. The drops of oral vaccine distributed in the most remote locations around the world have made this dramatic difference.
Consider joining us to support this great cause, either as a participant, a vocal supporter at the lake, or by making a contribution at the GoFundMe link shown below. Join us, along with the Gates Charitable Foundation and the World Health Organization in helping to change the World for future generations.
All money raised will be sent to Rotary International’s “End Polio Now” Campaign to support this vital program.

Unheated men’s and women’s changing facilities are available in the “Beach House” following the Plunge, and all plungers and supporters are welcome to join us for Pizza at Tremezzo Ristorante on Lowell St. following the event. Arrival time is 10:45am and the Plunge will be held promptly at 11am.
