WILMINGTON, MA — Lindsey J. Rubino (Nelson), of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a battle with cancer.
Lindsey was born in Cambridge, MA on March 20, 1954; she was the cherished daughter of the late Frederick and Barbara (Marshall) Nelson.
She cherished spending time with family and there are many happy memories of gatherings at her house, including Christmas, birthdays and other holidays. She enjoyed day trips all over New England, including regular visits to Plum Island, Parker River Reservation and Berry Pond at Harold Parker State Forest. She could also be found at the Methuen High School softball field, a staple in the crowd and superfan. Her family and friends will remember her infectious laugh, excellent cooking, and larger-than-life presence. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Lindsey was the beloved wife of the late Michael A. Rubino, devoted mother of Michael Rubino and his wife Darcy of Lawrence, Jackie Rubino of Wilmington, and the late Allison Anne Rubino, loving “Mimi” of Amanda, Jesse, and Jack. Dear sister of Pamela Secord and her husband Don of Sharon, Cheryl Oates of Wilmington, and Kristie Nelson Katz of Gilford, NH. Lindsey is also survived by her extended family, her friends, and she was “the greatest Auntie Lindsey” to her nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Sunday, March 29th for Visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a Service to Celebrate Lindsey’s life at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lindsey’s memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., SW120, Boston, MA 02215.
