OBITUARY: Robert Leo MacSweeney, 74

WILMINGTON, MA — Robert L. MacSweeney, “Bob”, age 74, of Tewksbury, formerly of Wilmington, passed away on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on April 7, 1951, in Somerville, MA; he was the cherished son of the late Mortimer and Marie (O’Leary) MacSweeney. Bob was raised and educated in Somerville.

Bob was the beloved husband of Pamela (Munyon) MacSweeney, devoted father of Joseph MacSweeney, Sean MacSweeney, and the late Ryan MacSweeney all of Tewksbury. He was the dear brother of Debbie MacSweeney, Jimmy MacSweeney & his wife Judy, Laura McDonough & her husband William, Mark MacSweeney, and the late Michael MacSweeney. Bob is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Monday, March 16th from 9:30-11:00 a.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 11:30 a.m.
