WILMINGTON, MA — You can’t sit with us…unless you have tickets! The Plastics are taking over the stage as the Lamplighters Drama Guild proudly presents Mean Girls: High School Version, the hit musical comedy adapted from the iconic film and Broadway musical sensation.

Performances take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 7pm; Friday, March 20, 2026 at 7pm; and Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2pm in the Wilmington High School’s Joanne M. Benton Auditorium (159 Chestnut Street).

Tickets cost $15 (general admission); $10 for students and senior citizens; and free for school staff (with ID at door). Purchase your tickets HERE.

Featuring a book by nine-time Emmy Award winner Tina Fey, this high-energy production brings sharp humor, unforgettable characters, and empowering themes to life on stage.

The story follows Cady Heron, who grew up on an African savanna before moving to suburban America and entering the unpredictable ecosystem of high school. When she’s welcomed into the school’s most exclusive clique — “The Plastics,” led by the charming but ruthless Regina George — Cady learns that popularity comes at a price. As friendships shift and loyalties are tested, she must decide who she truly wants to be.

Packed with catchy songs, dynamic choreography, and laugh-out-loud moments, Mean Girls: High School Version explores identity, kindness, and the power of staying true to yourself — all while delivering the wit and heart audiences love.

“This show is hilarious, over-the-top, and has real heart,” says Samantha Prindiville, director of the production. “Our students have thrown themselves into the sass, the energy, and the comedy of it all. It’s fun, fierce, and absolutely unforgettable.”

Parental Discretion Advised

Mean Girls (both the Broadway musical and the “High School Version” adaptation) carries a parental discretion warning due to its mature, satirical, and often crude content. While the High School Version is toned down from the original, it is generally recommended for audiences aged 12-13 and older (6th grade and up). Parents are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with the musical’s soundtrack or the 2004 film before allowing younger children to attend. The show is often used as a tool to initiate conversations about healthy friendships, social media, and empathy, but it is not considered suitable for young children.
