WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington voters will go the polls on Saturday, April 25, 2026 to elect two Select Board members, two School Committee members, and two Housing Authority meetings.
As of the morning of Thursday, February 26, 2026, Town Clerk’s Office reports that SEVEN residents have pulled nomination papers to get onto the ballot.
Wilmington Select Board Race
Both Select Board incumbents — Frank West and Gary DePalma — have pulled nomination papers to run for another term. Political newcomer Sivakumar Mallaiyasamy — who works for Oracle and has an MBA from UMass Lowell — has also pulled papers. West and Mallaiyasamy have returned their papers. DePala has yet to do so.
Wilmington School Committee Race
Both School Committee incumbents — Jennifer Bryson and Michael Mercaldi — have pulled nomination papers to run for another term. Malden Catholic senior Adrian Babu has also pulled nomination papers. At his school, Babu is Student Council President and Track & Field Captain. He is a DECA National Finalist and Top Exam Scorer, and has been published in the American Journal of Study. Bryson and Mercaldi have returned their papers; Babu has not done so.
Wilmington Housing Authority
In a correction from earlier reporting, incumbent Lori Penney has not formally pulled nomination papers to run for another 5-year term, but has expressed her intention of doing so to the Town Clerk’s Office.
Joe Maselli, Chair of the Wilmington Economic Development Committee, has pulled papers to fill the unexpired 4-year term, which opened up due to a vacancy.
The Shawsheen Tech School Committee seats and Town Moderator position will not appear on the 2026 ballot.
Nomination papers are still available in the Town Clerk’s Office. The last day to submit nomination papers, with at least 50 valid signatures from Wilmington voters, is Friday, March 6, 2026 by 4:30pm.
The Annual Town Election will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, form 8am to 8pm. Precincts 1, 2 and 3 vote at the Senior Center (130 Main Street), and Precincts 4, 5 and 6 vote at the new Town Hall (146 Middlesex Avenue).
The last day to register to vote is Wednesday, April 15, 2026 by 5pm.
