LIBRARY NEWS: Wilmington Library To Host 15 Programs Next Week; Celebrate Read Across America Day with Dr. Seuss On March 2

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, March 2, 6-8pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in.

Connect with a Social Worker
Tuesday, March 3, 10am-12pm
The Wilmington Wellness Coalition, in partnership with Wilmington Memorial Library, offers free, confidential sessions at the library for any library patron who may need support. Meet with Samantha Cavanaugh, the Town of Wilmington’s social worker, for help with mental health, substance use, housing, food insecurity, transportation, applications, caregiver support, and more. The first hour will be for drop-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, and the second hour will be appointment based in 20-minute time slots.

Pints + Pages
Thursday, March 5, 7pm
The group meets on the first Thursday of every other month. The book discussion will be hosted by librarians from the Wilmington and Tewksbury Public Libraries. This month’s book is: Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix.

Needleworkers
Friday, March 6, 10am-12pm
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop-in.

Youth Programs

Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, March 2, 10am
Join Community Teamwork Family Resource Network for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. Ages 0-6, siblings welcome

Stories with Seuss
Monday, March 2, 5:30pm
Join us to celebrate Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’ birthday with silly stories, songs, and a fun activity. Best for ages 0-6. Older siblings are always welcome!

Preschool Storytime
Tuesday, March 3, 10am
Join us at our Preschool Storytime! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Ages 3-6

Blood Moon Drop-in Crafts
Tuesday March 3, 3-4pm and 5-7pm
Make some lunar crafts and connect with your dark side to celebrate the upcoming blood moon (aka lunar eclipse) on March 3! Grades 6-12

Time for Twos
Wednesday, March 4, 10am
Time for Twos includes books, rhymes, music and movement for children aged 2! Age 2

Drop-In Chess
Wednesday, March 4, 3pm
Join the WHS Chess Club for low stakes, pickup chess games at the library! All skills levels are welcome. All ages (recommended for grade 6 & up)

Baby Time
Thursday, March 5, 10am
Join us at our Baby Time! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Ages 0-23 months

Playful Pathways: All Aboard
Friday, March 6, 11am-12pm
CHOO-CHOO! It’s train time at the library! Enjoy all kinds of activities that focus on trains including dramatic play, matching games and more. Ages 0-5

LEGO Building
Friday, March 6, 3:45pm
Build with LEGOs at the same time as other LEGO fans and display what you make in the library! Grades K-5

Teen DnD
Saturday, March 7, 2pm
Looking for a group to play this fantasy tabletop role-playing game with? Join us for in person Dungeons and Dragons at the library. Our campaign is currently closed to new players. The Wilmington Wellness Coalition and Wilmington Memorial Library offer free, confidential sessions with the Town of Wilmington’s social worker on the first and third Tuesday and second and fourth Thursday of the month.
