Below is an obituary from Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home:
WOBURN, MA — CHRISTINE P. “PAT” (CONNORS) ARMSTRONG, of Woburn, passed away peacefully on February 4th, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of ninety-two.
Christine was the devoted daughter of the late John and Marion (MacDonald) Connors and was raised as part of a large and proud Irish family in Malden, Massachusetts.
She later raised her own family in Wilmington, dedicating her life to caring for her seven children.
Pat spent her winters in Florida with her beloved partner, John Irwin, until his passing in January of 2001. She continued to winter in Florida thereafter, cherishing that time with her sisters and enjoying the warmth, companionship, and special routines they shared.
She especially loved shopping and lunch dates with her sisters and could happily spend hours at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Savers and Goodwill. A very thrifty person, always having an eye for the best treasures and took such joy in finding a “new good find.” She would often celebrate her latest bargain over lunch the very next day, a tradition that brought her so much happiness. She always carried herself with style and grace, and she was known for being glamorous, put-together, and full of sparkle wherever she went. Pat also truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — a good glass of wine, laughter with family, and making memories together.
One of Pat’s greatest joys was traveling, particularly going on cruises, where she loved relaxing on the water, exploring new places, and enjoying the excitement of each journey.
Pat was the cherished mother of Donna Rose and her husband John of Florida; Tina McArdle and her husband Tim of Woburn; Diane Allen and her husband Ed of Nevada; Brian Armstrong and his wife Vickie of Florida; Stephen Armstrong of Woburn; Laurie French and her husband Max of Tewksbury; and John Armstrong of New Hampshire. She was the loving partner of the late John Irwin. She was the dear sister of Joan Burggren and her late husband Franny of Malden; Jackie Burke and her husband Allen; Sue McDonough and her husband Paul, both of Florida; the late Mary Burggren and her husband Gerald of Maine; Rosemarie “Trixie” Stafford and her late husband Buddy; and John Connors. Pat was a devoted and loving Grammy to Cory, Kyle, Colleen, Bryan, Shawn, Steven, Ashlee, Mark, Johnny, Nicole, Brianna, and Emily, and the adored “New Grammy” of eleven great-grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren loved her very much, always making her laugh and celebrating her on every possible occasion. They created endless pictures and crafts for her, which she treasured, and she loved spending time with them, watching them play and run around with joy. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Arrangements are private and under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, MA 01801.
