Connect with a Social Worker
Tuesday, February 17, 10am-12pm
The Wilmington Wellness Coalition, in partnership with Wilmington Memorial Library, offers free, confidential sessions at the library for any library patron who may need support. Meet with Samantha Cavanaugh, the Town of Wilmington’s social worker, for help with mental health, substance use, housing, food insecurity, transportation, applications, caregiver support, and more. The first hour will be for drop-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, and the second hour will be appointment based in 20-minute time slots.

Novel Ideas

Enjoy reading fiction? Join the library’s fiction book group led by Adult Services Librarian Erin. Please stop by the library to pick up a copy of the featured book. Featured Book: Deacon King Kong by James McBride.

Needleworkers

Pokémon Party

Pokémon Day is February 27, and the library wants to celebrate with you over school vacation week! Join us for activities, trade cards and meet other Pokémon fans! Grades K-5, siblings welcome

Rubber Duck Cosplay
Tuesday, February 17, 6pm
Let’s duck-torate! Use paint and other craft supplies to transform a rubber duck into your favorite character or celebrity like Kenduck Lamar or Quackniss Everdeen! Grades 6-12

Music and Movement with Thom Mystic
Wednesday, February 18, 10am
Join Thom Mystic Early Intervention for this fun music and movement playgroup! Enjoy free motor play and a structured music circle time led by a music therapist. They will use songs, movement, and instruments to increase peer socialization, imitation skills, language development, sensory integration, and motor skills. Ages 15 months-5 years old

Wee Got the Jazz: A Celebration of Jazz for Kids
Wednesday, February 18, 6pm
Join Wee the People to learn and participate in this empowering program! Celebrate Black History Month at this kid-powered workshop celebrating the art, genius and soul of Black folk who birthed America’s music – a sound of joy and struggle, freedom and radical disruption. This program is funded by a grant from the Wilmington Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. Ages 6-12

Playful Pathways: Boats Can Float!

Manga Tryouts

Have a say in manga purchased for the teen collection with this club! During each meeting, we’ll sample 1st volumes of different manga and vote on whether it should be added to WML’s collection. Grades 6-12

Switch It Up! Tournament Style
Friday, February 20, 3pm
Love video games? In this special Switch It Up vacation week event, you’ll be competing in a Mario Kart Tournament, followed by group play! Tournament winner will even receive a prize! Grades 1-5

Karate: Focus and Confidence Building
Saturday, February 21, 11am
Join the Academy of Traditional Karate for an exciting karate class, where kids will learn basic karate moves in a fun, supportive environment. Open to Ages 4-12
