LOWELL, MA — Patricia A Nims, 69, of Lowell MA, passed away at Winchester Hospital after a short illness on January 20, 2026.
Patricia grew up in Tewksbury MA, before moving to Billerica where she raised her family. She moved to Lowell where she lived with her husband Scott until his passing.
Patricia worked for Analog Devices in Wilmington, MA for many years. Most recently she worked at the Market Basket in Chelmsford, MA until her retirement several years ago.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved having all her grandchildren together for the holidays. She enjoyed her weekly lunches with her best friend Cheryl and their afternoons doing puzzles together. She was a lover of cats. She was known to take in strays and care for them. She was teased by her children for being “the crazy cat lady”. She had a great sense of humor and loved a good laugh.
She is survived by her son Thomas Furlong, Daughter and son in-law Melissa and Franck Malandain, best friends Cheryl Wyatt and William Young, niece Jenna Wyatt, her grandchildren Brian Furlong, Tyler Malandain and his fiancé Jessica Crane, Gabrielle, Austin, Nathan and Dustin Malandain, Ayla and Tucker Wyatt. Brothers Danial and his wife Doreen Norton of Texas, George and his wife Cathrine Norton of Georgia, and Richard Norton of Nevada. Mother in-law Dawn Nims of Wilmington Massachusetts, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her beloved husband Scott Nims and both parents George and Anna (Betty) Norton.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7th from 3pm-6pm at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home 16 Lee Street Tewksbury, MA.
