WILMINGTON, MA — Monteforte Law P.C. is pleased to announce that applications are now available for the Albert Iamelli Sportsmanship & Scholarship Award, an annual scholarship created and funded by Wilmington attorney Michael Monteforte Jr. in honor of his late grandfather, Albert Iamelli.
Albert Iamelli, known to many as “Papa,” dedicated much of his life to high school athletics throughout New England. He served for decades as a football referee and baseball umpire and was president of both the New England Football Officials and New England Baseball Officials associations. He was widely respected for his integrity, fairness, and commitment to sportsmanship — values that remain at the heart of this scholarship.
Each year, Monteforte Law P.C. awards four scholarships of $500 each to graduating student-athletes from Wilmington High School who demonstrate strong academic performance, athletic participation, and exemplary character.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
• Be a graduating senior at Wilmington High School
• Participate in a sport
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
Applications for the 2026 Albert Iamelli Sportsmanship & Scholarship Award are now open.
Students who wish to apply may request an application by emailing MonteforteTeam@montefortelaw.com. Completed applications must be submitted by Friday, April 17th, 2026, and we will be announcing the recipients on Friday, May 8th, 2026.
