LIBRARY NEWS: Wilmington Library To Host 10 Programs Next Week, Including Special Vacation Week Storytime On January 2

Library Closure

The library will be closing at 5pm on December 31st and will remain closed on January 1st in observation of the New Year.

Creative Writing Skills Group

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, December 29, 6pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in.

This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop-in.

Ready, Set, STEAM!
Monday, December 29, 6pm
Learn and have fun at the same time in this engaging STEAM program! For Grades K-5 and their families

Minecraft: Winter Wonderland
Tuesday, December 30, 3pm
Kids will be able to play hide-and-seek through the whimsical halls and secret hidey-holes of the Gingerbread Mansion. And either unleash their creativity by building and decorating their own gingerbread house with candy and icing to see if theirs is the most delicious or embark on an exhilarating parkour competition to the peak of a majestic mountain! All presented by Arrayscape Gaming. Grades K-5

Slice & Dice Junior- Pizza and Games for Kids and Families

Join Librarians Mary and Marie for a special round of Slice & Dice! Enjoy pizza and games for kids and families! Join us for open play where you can explore our game library or bring your own favorites to share with the group. Kids and Families

Noon Year’s Eve!

Celebrate New Year’s Eve early and avoid staying up ’til midnight! We’ll celebrate with crafts and activities, a countdown to noon followed by a balloon drop, a sparkling grape juice and cider toast and wrap up the party with a bubble-wrap-stomp dance! Kids of all ages

Jane Austen’s 250th Birthday Bingo
Celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th anniversary with us at WML! Now through December 31st, adults and teens are invited to play Jane Austen Bingo. Pick up a bingo sheet at the library, complete the activities, and return it to earn raffle ticket for our Austen-themed prize basket. Each completed bingo line counts as one raffle entry.

Save the Date!
Join us to speak French with other Francophiles! WML has a new monthly group for anyone who loves to speak and listen to French. Join group leader, Nathalie Hayduk, for this stress-free, low-key group to speak French on a more regular basis. The first meeting will be on Thursday, January 29th at 7pm. All future meetings will take place on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7pm!

Book Store Next Door
In January and February, the Bookstore Next Door will be open Saturdays only, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop by to purchase some new-to-you books!
