Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — Corinne J. Manzo (Casaccio), age 91, of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and Marco Island, Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 22, 2025.
Corinne was born on October 31, 1934, in Boston, Massachusetts, and was raised and educated in the North End of Boston. She was the daughter of the late Josephine (Speranza) Gravallese and her late husband Alfred, and the late Peter Casaccio. Growing up as part of a large, close-knit Italian family deeply shaped Corinne’s lifelong devotion to family, tradition, and hospitality.
In 1970, Corinne married and moved to Wilmington, where she raised a beautiful family and created a home that was always open to relatives and friends. She loved to entertain and was well known for hosting her annual Fourth of July celebration for many years. A gifted cook, Corinne cherished having family gathered around her table—Sunday dinners and holidays were filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories. She proudly carried on family traditions, especially hosting Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations for family and friends.
Corinne worked for many years as a florist, where her artistic talent, creativity, and warm personality made her a joy to work with and well loved by the public. She later relocated to Marco Island, Florida, where she lived for more than 30 years before returning to Massachusetts to be closer to family. While in Marco Island, Corinne worked alongside her son at his jewelry store for over 20 years. She had a natural gift for connecting with customers and continued working until retiring at the remarkable age of 85.
Corinne shared a special bond with her grandchildren, who were truly the center of her world. During her years in Marco Island, she happily hosted countless college spring break visits for them and their friends. She loved having young people around, spending time shopping, visiting malls, enjoying lunches and dinners out, and finishing the day at their favorite stop—Brigham’s Ice Cream.
Known for her generous spirit, Corinne also hosted a weekly Wednesday evening “cocktail hour” at her Marco Island home, welcoming friends and neighbors with open arms—the more, the merrier. Her many hobbies included avid reading, ceramics, playing bocce, and traveling. Curious by nature, Corinne loved discovering new places and meeting new people.
Corinne will be fondly remembered as a beautiful woman inside and out, known for her sense of style, engaging personality, and unconditional love for her family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and joy for life will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Corinne was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Manzo, devoted mother of Richard Washak, Jr. and his wife Andrea of Marco Island, FL, Michele Hudson and her late husband Doug and Cori Sugrue and her husband Dave all of Wilmington, Greg Washak and his wife Rose of Amesbury, and the late Patricia (Manzo) Rivera. Loving “Nana” to 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, dear sister of the late Richard Casaccio.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Saturday, December 27th from 9:00-10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, at 11:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
