Celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th birthday on December 16 with tea & trivia at the library! Janeites, casual fans, and those who just love a tea party are all welcome. We’ll have themed prizes for the winners.

Novel Ideas
Thursday, December 18, 7pm
Enjoy reading fiction? Join the library’s fiction book group led by Adult Services Librarian Erin. Please stop by the library to pick up a copy of the featured book. Featured Book: Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen.

Music with Dara

With keyboard, felt board, and finger puppets, Dara weaves songs (old and new favorites) and creative movement for a fun-filled musical program! Ages 2-5, siblings welcome

Family Craft Night: Jane Austen Inspired!

Celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th birthday by enjoying crafts inspired by the Regency Era! Make miniature portraits or try your hand at lacing bookmarks! Ages 3+

Manga Tryouts
Thursday, December 18, 3:30pm
Have a say in manga purchased for the teen collection with this club! During each meeting, we’ll sample 1st volumes of different manga and vote on whether it should be added to WML’s collection. Grades 6-12

Sensory Discovery for Teens

Sensory Discovery is designed as an enrichment activity with fun games and crafts for neurodiverse teens! Ages 14-18

Switch it Up! Video Game Club

Jane Austen’s 250th Birthday Bingo
Celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th anniversary with us at WML! Now through December 31st, adults and teens are invited to play Jane Austen Bingo. Pick up a bingo sheet at the library, complete the activities, and return it to earn raffle ticket for our Austen-themed prize basket. Each completed bingo line counts as one raffle entry.

Save the Date!
Join us to speak French with other Francophile! WML has a new monthly group for anyone who loves to speak and listen to French. Join group leader, Nathalie Hayduk for this stress-free, low-key group to speak French on a more regular basis. The first meeting will be on Thursday, January 29th at 7pm. All future meetings will take place on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7pm!

Book Store Next Door
Celebrate the winter holidays with the Friends of the Library Bookstore Next Door! All November and December holiday-themed books are half-off to help you give the gift of literature this season. While the store will be open for last-minute shopping on Saturday, Dec. 20, it will be closed the following dates: Wednesday, Dec. 24, Saturday, Dec. 27 and Wednesday, Dec. 31. In January, the Bookstore Next Door will be open Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through March.
