Ipswich River Watershed Association To Hold “Prepare To Welcome The Winter Solstice” On December 13

Below is information from the Ipswich River Watershed Association:

IPSWICH, MA — On Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 3pm to 5pm, join us for a reflective afternoon in nature as we prepare to welcome the Winter Solstice — the moment when the light begins to return. This peaceful afternoon invites you to slow down, connect with nature, and reflect on the quiet beauty of winter’s arrival. This public event takes place at the Association’s Headquarters at 143 Country Road in Ipswich.

We’ll begin with a mindful walk, guided by Kent Harrop, along the trails to Julia Bird Reservation—moving through the stillness of the landscape and observing the subtle signs of transition. Upon returning to IRWA, we’ll gather around the fire overlooking the river for a simple solstice ritual led by Stacy Keane Blagg, celebrating the coming of winter, the turning of the seasons, and the light within our community. Be sure to dress warmly.

Join us in welcoming the deep peace of winter. Register HERE.

This hike is part of a series of events Ipswich River Watershed Association is holding in conjunction with North Shore Spirituality in Nature Group (NS SING). NS SING provides monthly outdoor events exploring the watershed once a month via hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking or canoeing. SING offers a contemplative, meditative experience providing opportunities for deepening spiritually in the midst of nature.
