Below is information from the Wilmington Memorial Library’s website:
WILMINGTON, MA — The goal of the Friends of the Library’s 2025 Annual Appeal is to provide funding for a soundproof TalkBox Booth for the Wilmington Memorial Library. At a time when the library’s meeting rooms are in constant demand, the TalkBox will make available a small, private space that can be reserved by individuals for phone calls, video conferencing or quiet study – without disturbing others or sharing personal conversations in public. It provides a private work area in a public space. The TalkBox can free up conference rooms and keep common areas quiet while offering necessary privacy and access to library resources.
Your contribution to the 2025 Annual Appeal will support funding the purchase of one TalkBox Booth, allowing the library to continue expanding library spaces for all.
Donations can be accepted online by clicking on the button above or you can fill out a printable donation form and mail a check to the library at 175 Middlesex Avenue, Wilmington, MA 01887. Checks should be made out to “The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library.”
Past Initiatives
Inviting community spaces are an important part of a vibrant society. And few places are as inviting as the Wilmington Memorial Library! Years of innovation and redesign by our hardworking staff have created useful and comfortable spaces at our Library — areas that are available for all to use and enjoy. Some of these beloved spaces include:
- The Peggy Kane Reading Garden
- Comfortable seating in the Library’s redesigned first floor
- Our Storywalk® at Rotary Park
- A Children’s Room enhanced with a mural created by award-winning author and illustrator Bob Shea
- Educational toys and other enhancements to the Children’s Room that coincided with the Mind in the Making Grant
All these projects, and much more, would not have been possible without funding from the Friends following a successful Annual Appeal campaign!
