OBITUARY: Elaine E. (Crescenzi) Thornley, 84

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Elaine Elvira Crescenzi Thornley, 84, of North Andover, died November 9th, at Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was the living wife of the late Harold “Butch” Sutton Thornley, who passed away May 13th, 2020.

Born in Woburn, Elaine was the daughter of the late Domenic “Dick” Peter Crescenzi and Mary Edna Pearson. Elaine was a graduate of Woburn High School, class of 1959.

Elaine worked for Liberty Mutual in Boston. It was while living in Boston that she met her husband Butch of 56 years. Elaine loved to work in her garden, go to the beach and travel. She was a talented artist and especially enjoyed painting flowers and animals. She was a faithful member of the Wilmington Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Surviving is her daughter Jennifer, wife of Paul Vieira of North Reading and two grandchildren, grandson Domenic of North Reading and granddaughter Victoria, wife of Samuel Morse of Lawrence. Elaine was the sister of the late Eugene Crescenzi.

Friends can pay their respects at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park Street, North Reading (corner of Park Street and Rte. 28) at Reading line, on November 22nd, between the hours of 11am-3pm with the memorial service beginning at 3pm. Elder Jared Querengasser, of Pottsville, PA Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating.
