Virtual: Let’s Talk Hawks with Sovereign Science
Thursday, November 13, 7pm
Sovereign Science is an international Indigenous think tank, working on environmental and political sciences. SovSci recently petitioned the state of Massachusetts, with an Indigenous Impact statement to demand attention, research and consultation around rodenticide and the impact on migratory birds. This presentation and interactive dialogue will explore the process behind the MDAR impact statement, traditional ecological knowledge and spirituality, as well as the role of global advocacy.
Needleworkers

Field Trip: New England Quilt Museum

Join us for a tour at the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, MA! NEQM uses quilts and the stories of quiltmaking—a rich legacy of artistic expression and historical documentation from the earliest days of this country to the present—to educate and inspire quiltmakers and the public. Please note: We will be meeting at the museum at 18 Shattuck Street in Lowell, MA, not at the library.

Happening Now: Fleece Fest Collection!
Grown out of your winter coat? Donate it to the library’s winter coat drive to help it find a new home! Bring lightly worn kids (incl. babies & toddlers) and teen coats to the library between 11/1-12/8. Come back on December 13, from 10am-4pm to pick out a new coat (no donation required).
Pages for Pastries
This reading challenge (for adults) is pretty simple and sweet: read and review books for the chance to win a $25 gift card to a local bakery! Fill out a bookmark, available at the library and online, for every book you read, then bring it back to the library in exchange for a raffle ticket. Three lucky participants will win gift cards to area bakeries! Running from November 1st through the 24th.
New Assisted Listening System
The Wilmington Memorial Library is pleased to announce that an assisted listening system is now available for events held in the Stewart Room. The system can be used in three different ways. For patrons without hearing aids or cochlear implants, there are headphones. For patrons with aids or implants that have a T-Coil, there are neck loops. For patrons who have paired their aids or implants with their phone, there’s an app, WaveCast. Please contact the library (or technology librarians) for more information.
New Resource: Peterson’s Test & Career Prep!
Wilmington Memorial Library has a new resource- Peterson’s Test & Career Prep! With Person’s Test & Career Prep, you can search thousands of colleges and graduate schools, identify scholarships, take practice tests, create resumes and explore careers, all for free with your library card! Book Store Next Door
Regular hours are back at The Book Store Next Door! The bookstore is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am-4pm.
