Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — Judith R. (Jacobs) Gould, “Judy”, age 82, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. A long-time resident of Wilmington, Judy was known for her warm heart, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to her family and community.
Born on June 16, 1943, in Hudson, Massachusetts, Judy was the cherished only child of the late William and Urena “Rena” (Lovely) Jacobs. She was raised in Hudson, where she graduated from Hudson High School with the Class of 1961.
On October 25, 1969, Judy married her sweetheart, Ronald Gould. The couple began their life together in Medford before settling in Wilmington in 1973—a town that quickly became home. Judy embraced her new community wholeheartedly, especially through her deep involvement with the Abundant Life Church. There, she found not only a place of worship but a second family. Judy worked in the church daycare, where she adored caring for the babies, and served faithfully as a collector at Sunday services for over 30 years. For many years, she enjoyed serving at the church baked goods booth during the town’s annual Fun on the Fourth celebration. Her extended “church family” brought her immense joy and purpose.
Family was always at the center of Judy’s life. She was a devoted wife, a loving and supportive mother, and a proud “Grammy” to her beloved grandson, Henry. Judy’s unconditional love and constant encouragement shaped the lives of those closest to her.
In her leisure time, Judy found joy in quiet, meaningful hobbies. She loved solving puzzles, playing trivia games, and reading murder mysteries and magazines. A talented knitter, she created countless handmade gifts for loved ones and generously donated lap robes to local rest homes. Judy also enjoyed listening to the radio, tuning into talk shows and news programs.
Judy will be remembered for her kindness, her willingness to help others, and the deep love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her gentle spirit and giving heart will live on in the memories of her family and friends.
Judy was the beloved wife of Ronald Gould, devoted mother of Jeffrey Gould and his wife Beth of Attleboro, MA, and Scott Gould and his wife Lauren of Tewksbury, MA. She was the loving “Grammy” of Henry Gould, who brought her immense pride and happiness. Judy is also survived by her dear in-laws: Roland and Sarah Gould of Shrewsbury, MA, Michael and Joan Gould of Canton, CT, William and Cynthia Gould of Hudson, MA, Brenda and David Thatcher of Colebrook, NH, and Peter Mimeault of Sturbridge, MA. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Rebecca Mimeault. Judy was a special aunt to her many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Family and friends gathered for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Friday, October 24th from 4:00–7:00 p.m. A Service to Celebrate Judy’s Life was held on Saturday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the Abundant Life Church, 173 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, followed by interment at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the Abundant Life Church, 173 Church St., Wilmington, MA 01887.
