Needleworkers at Night

These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in.

Slice & Dice — A Pizza and Table Top Game Night
Tuesday, November 4, 6-8pm
Join Librarians Mary and Marie for Slice & Dice, our monthly pizza and table top game night for adults. Each month, we’ll kick off with a featured game, followed by open play where you can explore our game library or bring your own favorites to share with the group!

FAFSA’s Been Filed — Now What?
Tuesday, November 4, 6pm
In this workshop led by independent college advisor Tom O’Hare, attendees will review how application results factor into eligibility and decisions that schools make when awarding tuition assistance.

Pints + Pages
Thursday, November 6, 7pm
The group meets on the first Thursday of every other month. The book discussion will be hosted by librarians from the Wilmington and Tewksbury Public Libraries. This month’s book: Sisters in the Wind by Angeline Boulley.

Needleworkers
Friday, November 7, 10am-12pm
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop-in.

Worlds Within Words
Saturday, November 8, 3pm
Do you like your books to take you to fantastic, unlikely, and even terrible places? Sometimes all three? Then the Wilmington Memorial Library invites you to our newest book club Worlds Within Words! Featured Book: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

Youth Programs

Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, November 3, 10am
Join Community Teamwork Family Resource Network for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. Ages 0-6, siblings welcome

Preschool Storytime
Tuesday, November 4, 10am
Join us at our Preschool Storytime! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Ages 3-6

DnD 101 for Teens
Tuesday, November 4, 6pm
New players who wish to join our regular library campaign (or who just want to learn about the world’s most popular roleplaying game) should attend our 101 sessions, held monthly. Grades 6-12.

Time for Twos
Wednesday, November 5, 10am
Time for Twos includes books, rhymes, music and movement for children aged 2! Age 2

Drop-In Chess
Wednesday, November 5, 3pm
Join the WHS Chess Club for low stakes, pickup chess games at the library! All skills levels are welcome. All ages (recommended for grade 6 & up)

Family Craft Night: Leaf Ornaments
Wednesday, November 5, 6:30pm
Complete a craft together with your family! Decorate wooden leaf ornaments with book pages, pipe cleaners, and glitter (oh my)! Ages 3+

Baby Time

Join us at our Baby Time! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Ages 0-23 months

Playful Pathways: Teddy Bear Tea Party
Friday, November 7, 11am
During our Life Skills/Home Unit, let’s have some fun with dramatic play! Bring your dolls or stuffed animals and work together to set the table and pour the tea (juice). We’ll even eat delicious treats and enjoy the company of new friends at this fun tea party for little ones! Ages 0-5

LEGO Building
Friday, November 7, 3:45pm
Build with LEGOs at the same time as other LEGO fans and display what you make in the library! Grades K-5

New Assisted Listening System
The Wilmington Memorial Library is pleased to announce that an assisted listening system is now available for events held in the Stewart Room. The system can be used in three different ways. For patrons without hearing aids or cochlear implants, there are headphones. For patrons with aids or implants that have a T-Coil, there are neck loops. For patrons who have paired their aids or implants with their phone, there’s an app, WaveCast. Please contact the library (or technology librarians) for more information.

Save the Date!
Mark your calendars for an evening with author and local sportscaster Michael Holley, on May 14th! A Boston sports journalist, author and broadcaster, Michael Holley hosts shows on NBC Sports Boston and 98.5 The Sports Hub, while teaching at Boston University. A former Boston Globe journalist, he’s also appeared on ESPN and Peacock. There will be a cash bar, book sales & autograph signing. This is a free event, open to all.

Book Store Next Door
Regular hours are back at The Book Store Next Door! The bookstore is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am-4pm.
