Virtual Creative Writing Skills Group
Sunday, October 26, 7pm
Learn and apply creative writing tips, tools and techniques. Open to all who want to improve their writing skills and get their work published. To register, email Adult Services Librarian Erin at adultservices@wilmlibrary.org with the name of the event.

Bookends Book Group
Monday, October 27, 10am
This book group discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Associate Rebecca. Please stop by the library to pick up a copy of the featured book. This month’s featured book is The Book Club for Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick.

Hearing Aid Tips & Tricks
Monday, October 27, 7pm
This hybrid monthly meeting is a place for people to trade tips and tricks on how to get the most out of their hearing aids. Led by Technology Librarian Brad. You can attend in-person or virtually on Zoom.

Afternoon Cemetery Stroll
Tuesday, October 28, 2:30pm
Join Town Museum Curator Matthew Beres for a history walk and talk through Wildwood Cemetery.

Needleworkers
Friday, October 31, 10am-12pm
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop-in.

Youth Programs

Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, October 27, 10am
Join Community Teamwork Family Resource Network for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. Ages 0-6, siblings welcome

Preschool Storytime
Tuesday, October 28, 10am
Join us at our Preschool Storytime! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Ages 3-6

HalloTeen Taste Test & Trivia
Tuesday, October 28, 6pm
Put your taste buds to the test as we try Halloween themed treats to guess their flavors! We’ll have trivia too – and the winner will claim a pack of spooky snacks to take home! Grades 6-12

Time for Twos
Wednesday, October 29, 10am
Time for Twos includes books, rhymes, music and movement for children aged 2! Age 2

Parent Book Club Celebration
Wednesday, October 29, 6pm
We’ve finished Mind in the Making by Ellen Galinsky! Time to celebrate! Participants of this year’s Parent Book Club can join the library for a special celebration – a pizza party! Bring your spouses and children for an IN-PERSON night of pizza, socializing, and activities for little ones!

Baby Time

Join us at our Baby Time! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Ages 0-23 months

Fleece Fest Collection Begins
Saturday, November 1, All Day
Grown out of your winter coat? Donate it to the library’s winter coat drive to help it find a new home! Bring lightly worn coats for ages infant through teen to the library between 11/1-12/8. Come back on December 13, from 10am-4pm to pick out a new coat (no donation required).

Bully Prevention with the Academy of Traditional Karate
Saturday, November 1, 11am
Join the Academy of Traditional Karate for an exciting karate class, where kids will learn basic karate moves in a fun, supportive environment. In addition to practicing the physical skills, the class will also focus on bully prevention strategies and self-defense awareness. Perfect for beginners looking to gain both fitness and life skills! Open to ages 4-12

Teen DnD
Saturday, November 1, 2pm
Looking for a group to play with? Join us for in-person Dungeons and Dragons at the library. You may also participate on Discord, a private server. Grades 6-12

New Assisted Listening System
The Wilmington Memorial Library is pleased to announce that an assisted listening system is now available for events held in the Stewart Room. The system can be used in three different ways. For patrons without hearing aids or cochlear implants, there are headphones. For patrons with aids or implants that have a T-Coil, there are neck loops. For patrons who have paired their aids or implants with their phone, there’s an app, WaveCast. Please contact the library (or technology librarians) for more information.

Save the Date!
Mark your calendars for an evening with author and local sportscaster Michael Holley, on May 14th! A Boston sports journalist, author and broadcaster, Michael Holley hosts shows on NBC Sports Boston and 98.5 The Sports Hub, while teaching at Boston University. A former Boston Globe journalist, he’s also appeared on ESPN and Peacock. There will be a cash bar, book sales & autograph signing. This is a free event, open to all.

Book Store Next Door
Regular hours are back at The Book Store Next Door! The bookstore is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am-4pm.
