The Sarah Carter Lecture Fund Committee is holding a free concert with Lenny Zarcone at 7pm at the Wilmington Middle School. An accomplished showman who entertains has audience with popular music as well as a little bit of comedic commentary, Lenny sings a variety of beloved songs from Frank Sinatra to Motown and beyond. These programs, suitable for all ages, have been offered to the Town since 1910. All are welcome. Admission is free.
Wilmington families are invited to a free Trunk or Treat event from 6pm to 8pm at Wilmington’s local YMCA — the Burbank YMCA (36 Arthur B. Lord Drive, Reading). This event — which is open to non-YMCA members — will also include Halloween-themed games and activities, including a “Haunted Hallway.” Attendees are encouraged to come in costume.
The Wilmington Senior Center (130 Main Street) is holding the following classes and activities: Zumba (9am); Pickleball (9am); Bocce (10am); Movie (10am); Just Stretch (11am); Sewing (noon); Chair Yoga (noon); Women’s Billiards (12:30pm); Poker (1pm); Chess (1pm); Corn Hole (1:30pm); and Fit N Trim (2pm). The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding the following events and activities: Needleworkers (10am) and Teen Leadership Council (3pm).
The Pumpkin Patch on the front lawn of the Wilmington United Methodist Church (87 Church Street) is open today from 1pm to 7pm.
TEXTILES WANTED: The Wilmington Educational Foundation has partnered with Baystate Textiles to raise funds through an ongoing textile recycling rebate program. Bag up any of your unwanted footwear, clothing, accessories, linens and stuffed animals and place them in the donation boxes located outside each of Wilmington’s public schools. Donations can be in any condition as long as they’re clean and dry. The Wilmington Educational Foundation will receive a rebate of $100 for every ton of textiles collected. WEF earns thousands of dollars each year from this fundraiser.
