WOBURN, MA — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has named veteran homicide prosecutor Suzanne Kontz Wiseman to lead the Office’s Cold Case Unit. Assistant District Attorney Wiseman brings over 21 years of trial experience. She previously served as Senior Trial Counsel and Chief of the Development Team. She has prosecuted homicide, domestic violence and sexual assault cases. Wiseman has tried over 100 Superior Court trials.

Wiseman has been a trainer and instructor at local, state, and federal trainings in the fields of Homicide, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking and Cyber Crimes. She is an adjunct professor at the Boston College Law School and guest lectures at several other area law schools. She is the co-chair for the MCLE Homicide training and has presented on Domestic Violence Homicides for the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association. She received her JD from Boston University School of Law in 1997 and her BA from Drake University in 1994.

In addition to naming Wiseman as the head of the Unit, District Attorney Ryan is continuing her unwavering commitment to solving some of the county’s oldest and most complicated cases by expanding the Unit with the addition of newly created Deputy Chief role. Under Wiseman’s leadership Assistant District Attorney Andrew Ineson will work alongside fellow prosecutors and police partners to bring even more resources to this work.

Ineson has served in the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office for over ten years. He has most recently been assigned to the Lowell Superior Court Trial Team, and prior to that was assigned to the Special Investigations Unit for five years. He has engaged in complex investigations of homicides, organized criminal enterprises engaged in narcotics trafficking, firearms trafficking, and gun violence, as well as rings engaged in residential break-ins, theft, and fraud. He has assisted with drafting numerous search warrants, served as a designated prosecutor for wiretap warrant applications and tried over seventy criminal trials. He received his JD from Boston College Law School in 2015, and his BA from Tufts University in 2012.

“I am proud that we have been able to not only bring answers to families through the work of this unit but also, in many cases bring charges and successful prosecutions that truly bring justice for victims,” said District Attorney Ryan. “The heart of this work is the people who are dedicating the time and resources to tirelessly re-examining existing evidence, re-interviewing witnesses and utilizing the latest investigative techniques and technology. I am certain that with the experience Assistant District Attorneys Wiseman and Ineson bring to these roles, the Cold Case Unit will help more victims and families.”
