Wilmington Man Involved In Violent Struggle With New Hampshire Police

Below is a press release from the Kingston, NH Police Department:

KINGSTON, NH — On Friday, September 12, 2025, a passerby reported a suspicious person in the area of Route 125 and Follybrook Terrace. Sgt. Peltier responded and approached the man in a casual manner, at which point he fled southbound on Route 125. Sgt. Peltier returned to his cruiser in pursuit of the individual. After being cut off, the suspect became verbally and physically aggressive towards Sgt. Peltier, striking the cruiser window several times in a violent manner before running northbound into traffic, putting himself in danger from the motoring public.

Officer Worcester arrived on scene to assist. During efforts to gain control of the suspect, he again attempted to flee, disregarding repeated lawful commands. At that point, Officer Worcester deployed his taser, making contact. The suspect continued to actively resist and remained combative, requiring a second deployment of the taser. After a prolonged struggle, officers were ultimately able to bring the suspect under control and secure him in handcuffs.

He was later identified as 43-year-old John Zengilowski of Wilmington, MA. Zengilowski admitted to officers that he was under the influence of methamphetamine and cocaine. In addition to his impairment, he was also experiencing other medical issues. He was transported to Exeter Hospital for evaluation, where he remained combative. Hospital staff placed him in a spit mask to manage his behavior, and he was held overnight under observation as part of the medical clearance process.

Zengilowski was issued a summons to appear in court on November 18, 2025, on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
