LETTER: Select Board Member Gary DePalma Urges A ‘YES’ Vote, Our Children Deserve A New School

Dear Wilmington residents,

We have all heard the YES people regarding the new school. We have all heard from the NO people.

Look at the facts. Yes, we can do this.

The most important people that we should be listening to fir the facts are the Town Manager’s Office, the Wildwood School Building Committee, and the School Committee. The Wildwood School Building Committee is made up of residents who are taxpayers and officials from the town.

We’ve seen the designs. We’ve seen the cost. We’ve seen how we will pay for this project.

This project has had many meetings with public comments. We’ve had our opportunity to voice our opinions.

This school will consolidate three older schools into one new school, which — in the long run — will be cost-efficient for us, the taxpayers.

Our children deserve a new school. Our teachers deserve it. The educational environment will be that much stronger with our children enrolled in a new school with today’s technology.

I am a senior on a fixed income that will be supporting this project.

I strongly recommend that we vote YES on September 13 and again on September 16.
