CAMPAIGN FINANCE: ‘YES’ Campaign Raises $17K From 100 Donors, ‘NO’ Campaign Raises $2,300 From 4 Donors

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Town Clerk’s Office has publicly posted the final campaign finance reports before the Special Town Meeting on Saturday, September 13, 2025 and Special Town Election on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

The “Yes For Wilmington Schools” Committee raised $16,959.98, with 117 donations recorded from 100 unique donors. Donors consisted of several members of the School Committee, including David Ragsdale, Stephen Turner, Nicholas Golden, and Michael Mercaldi, plus former member Jay Samaha. Finance Committee member Scott Neville and Economic Development Committee Chair Joe Maselli were also donors, as were School Building Committee members Christine Prendergast, Justin Cusce, and Michael Camoscio, along with the aforementioned Ragsdale, Turner and Golden. 99 of the 100 donors were from Wilmington, while the largest donation of $7,500 coming from the Dorchester-based North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, which reportedly has members who live in Wilmington.

The “Yes” committee spent $12,412.12 as of August 28, 2025. Expenses include nearly $10,500 in promotional materials from Connolly Printing in Woburn for mailers with postage, postcards, door hangers, yard signs, buttons, and stickers. Expenses not associated with Connolly Printing include a ZOOM subscription, t-shirts, a table runner and video services. Read the full report HERE.

Meanwhile, the “Better Options For Wilmington” Committee raised $2,347.45, with 4 donations recorded from 4 unique donors. $1,903.66 comes from the Committee’s Treasurer Karen Lee, with Housing Authority Chair Stacie Murphy also making a donation.

The “No” committee spent all the funds it has raised thus far. Expenses include lawn signs, printing & mailing costs, and video services. Read the full report HERE.

Both campaigns must next submit a campaign report on or before the 30th day following the election, documenting revenue brought in and expenses incurred after the above pre-election campaign finance reports were submitted.
